Accommodation Introduction to the program + dinner and social evening to get to know each other
Meet the Husky Pack! Learn how to harness the dogs and how to drive a sled, and head out for a guided tour into the woods and frozen marshes. After your return help snack the huskies and enjoy a nice warm lunch on the open fire before heading out to try your luck at ice fishing at the mighty 80m deep and 140km long frozen Vattudalen lake, with some stunning winter landscape views.
Dinner will be served either in a lavvo or indoors.
Snowshoeing with the huskies – it is a great way to explore the little secret spots off the beaten path. We'll check for wild animal tracks and make a little campfire to enjoy a warm drink and light lunch.
We'll pack and get ready for the upcoming two day tour in the wilderness, so we'll make the afternoon a bit more relaxing, with some comfort of cheese and charcuterie tasting from local farms and hunters (have you ever tried a bear salami or a reindeer sausage?) as an entrée before dinner.
Day 4 & 5
Overnight guided sled dog tour to a remote wilderness off grid cabin or tipi tent. You will have your own dog team to drive and take care of, help fetch water from the frozen lake, chop wood and get the fire going in the stove. You can do some ice fishing or walk around on snowshoes, we'll feed and bed down the huskies before we enjoy our candle lit dinner. The next day it is all about the trip back to the farm.
This day offers several options for you to choose from (please do let us know your preferred activity in your

You can choose to join an herbal workshop where you can learn to make your own salve, lip balm
or massage oil. We can als head out for a walk on the lake or in the forest or grab a pair of snowshoes and
enjoy the nature on your own pace, try your luck one more tim with ice fishing or watch and photograph the wild birds.
On several unique occasions during the winter it may be possible to visit a 1,5 hour distant majestic Hällingsåfallet
waterfall, where it is required to snowshoe through deep unploughed snow for 2,5km each way. This is very much weather
and snow conditions dependent option and we cannot guarantee it will be available at the time of your stay.
However – we leave this last day a little bit in your hands with all of the above options open.
We'll have a farewell dinner, again with Swedish specialties.
If you have found something interesting in our mini-handcraft shop, you can of course do some shopping for genuine gifts as well.
Oh yes, and let's hope to watch some more northern lights from the cabin porch!
Depending on the time of your departure from Strömsund/Óstersund, or in case you have your own car, let's have a last cup of coffee at the husky yard and get some more husky hugs, or enjoy a short stroll on the frozen trail around the farm or on the lake, before heading back to the civilization.
