Call Of The Wild

Call Of The Wild Tour

Answer the call of the wild and embark on this authentic experience that combines the best the northern wilderness has to offer with a warm hospitality, and let's leave a light footprint in return, while rewilding your heart.

Meet our wonderful loving and enthusiastic Husky family and learn about this amazing arctic breed. Become a dog musher with the help of our experienced guides and head out into the frozen taiga for your first sled dog tour.

Explore the fresh powder snow where no one has set foot before and track the wild animals on snowshoes, pulled by your husky companion.

The Wild has been our home, source of nourishment and medicine for thousands of years. Now you have a chance to encounter it first hand, enjoy the elements, learn new skills like building a campfire in below zero temperatures or recognizing wild edible and medicinal plants and making delicious winter tea and herbal massage oil.

When was the last time you walked through the silent woods, took the time to stop and just breathe? To bath in the grounding presence of the giant spruce trees and receive the healing from this green world?

The CALL OF THE WILD tour is designed with one main goal in mind: For you to experience the wilderness and all what the wild nature has to offer, and to accept its gifts, learn from, respect and appreciate it. And the simple yet cozy set up of the Nordic Husky Farm with its warm hospitality and knowledgeable nature loving hosts offers you the tools to do that.

This adventure package is PRIVATE – meaning just for you, your family or group. No other guests.

This program is all-inclusive – you just need to organize and buy your travel to us.

If you feel that you would like to experience more of the northern wilderness, than this Call of the Wild tour offers, welcome to check out our other multi-day tour packages HERE.

Program:

paw Day 1

  • Meet our husky pack and get a thorough tour of the kennel after your arrival at the farm
  • A welcome dinner of local specialities and introduction to the program
  • The northern lights may dance across the sky while you watch from the porch of your little log cabin before the huskies serenade you a good night.

paw Day 2
  • Learn to harness the dogs and to drive the sled, and become a musher on a guided sled dog tour through the boreal forest
  • Experience lunch cooked over the campfire
  • Explore the Nordic Husky Farm surroundings on your own by taking a short walk to the lake side, or relax in your cozy little cabin
  • In case of interest you can try your luck at catching an arctic char or another beautiful fish with our guidance
  • Enjoy home-cooked Sami inspired dinner made of wild ingredients

paw Day 3
  • After hearty breakfast it is time for guided snowshoe hike with the huskies, searching for moose, fox and other wildlife tracks in the snow and admiring the frozen beauty around
  • We'll find a shelter on the shore of a 140km long lake and make a campfire where we'll warm up with delicious meal. The coffee tastes best when cooked over the crackling fire while the huskies curl up in the snow beside and take a well-deserved rest while enjoying a frozen fish snack.
  • The afternoon after our return will be relaxing and hot dinner will be served at the cozy kitchen of the husky farm.
  • Before bed time let's check if the northern lights made their appearance again.

paw Day 4
  • Today it is time for a forest walk and calming, healing experience among the boreal conifers and evergreens. This nature awareness walk is led by one of Nordic Husky Farms owners who is an experienced certified herbalist and a passionate environmentalist.
  • We will learn about the healing, medicinal, nutritive and other values of the wild plants and how to receive the healing powers of Mother Nature. We will sit around a campfire on reindeer skins, prepare and enjoy tea from the forest gifts we gathered.
  • Hot lunch with yet another local specialty will await you when you get back and before we continue with the workshop, where we will learn to make natural remedies such as evergreen needle body oil and more.

paw Day 5
  • The final day offers yet another sled dog tour - this time we'll spend three hours dog mushing with our four legged friends on the lake and enjoying the stunning views of the highlands that surround it and checking tracks of the wildlife that crossed the ice, maybe just minutes before us.
  • We'll take a break by the shore or at one of the many islands where we'll take care of the huskies, and while they enjoy their well-deserved snack and rest, we'll light the campfire and cook ourselves a nice wilderness lunch, before heading back on the trail and to the farm.
  • Then it is time to say good bye, unless you want to stay another night and rest before your departure, or extend your winter wonderland adventure.
